Last Minute Christmas Cards!

We have all been there, right? You thought you had everything you needed, but then you remembered you need one more card! You haven’t much time so it has to be something quick. Luckily, I have two great ideas to share with you that you can make in 5 minutes! All you need for these cards is a punch or die that looks like a leaf or branch (like the Stampin’ Up sprig punch), some ink of your choice, a Christmas sentiment you love, White cardstock, one more color of cardstock you love, some gold twine and red pearls or other type of embellishment that looks like a berry! There is a slight change between the two cards so I will explain more about what I used below.

This first card is the simplest. But, it still looks just as festive and elegant despite the minimalist appearance.

To make this card I punched out the sprigs 3 times in Shaded Spruce cardstock with the Stampin’ Up Sprig punch. I put those sprigs together with glue dots and stuck it to the white cardstock with a piece of gold twine long enough to loop over the top of the card. Then I made a bow with the gold twine and stuck it on the top of the sprigs so it appears to be tied around the top of the sprigs. Next, I used my Cherry Cobbler blends markers to color in some Opal Rounds. I didn’t have any red embellishments that looked like berries and this worked great! I will say that pearls would have worked equally well. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas to Remember stamp set and added this sheet of white to my card base with dimensionals. Quick and easy!!

This next card is very similar, but it has just a little bit of color!

The minimalist look is not for everyone so I also made this card. This has a Cherry Cobbler card base. Everything else is the same except I added a circle behind the sprigs and then a circle of the Tidings of Christmas DSP to pull in some additional color. The sprigs were punched out in Evening Evergreen this time because it matches the DSP. The circle size you need will depend on the size of your sprigs!

I sure hope this helps you get a quick and easy card finished!

You could make this with lots of different supplies, but if you happen to need any of the items I used you can get them at my shop here.
